O BIOMÓRFICO COMO CONSTRUÇÃO POÉTICA DA SÉRIE ESTRUTURAS DA VIDA

This article results from research on biomorphic as a characteristic of the poetic construction of the series of paintings and engravings entitled Life Structures. It begins with research on the terminology and use of the biomorphic concept in art history. Biomorphic forms or images are understood to evoke living, organic forms, such as plants and the human body, characteristics present in works of the Surrealism movement and Contemporary Art. It seeks, then, relationships and approximations between the biomorphic characteristics and the poetic construction of the works of the Epithelium series, culminating in the series Life Structures. The series was created from microscopic images, which refer us to something that we cannot see with the naked eye, but that compose and structure all the complex living forms in the world.
