Abstract

This essay emerges from an experiment with urban photography in the city center of Santa Maria (RS), which took place while walking through the space waiting for encounters, singular moments, movement of beings and visual forms that, with the sensitivity of photography, are stabilized as a photo.. In this process, the collective placed itself on the lurking (KNEIPP; MOSSI, 2019), that is, in a state of attention and openness to the lives that pulsed in the surroundings, conceiving them as capable of creating multiple esthetic experiences (DEWEY, 2010). Based on these encounters that produced photographs, this text proposes three forms/moments of relating to the photographic image and the text: a piece of writing that unravels bibliographically referenced concepts - such as lurking, experience, memory of the city (ZANELLA, 2020), philosophy of photography (FLUSSER, 2002) and photogenic quality (FONSECA, 2018) -, a series of 21 urban photographs and also fragments of a poetic writing that is created by thinking about this photographic practice. Because, just like the city, the writing and the image are also instances in movement.
