UMA PROPOSTA CRÍTICO-CRIATIVA COM AUXÍLIO DE FERRAMENTAS DE INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL GENERATIVA DE IMAGEM

Abstract

This report presents the developments of a didactic sequence carried out within the framework of an intervention research project linked to the Professional Master’s Program in Arts (ProfArtes) of the Institute of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences (IHAC) at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Grounded in Ana Mae Barbosa’s Triangular Approach (2014), the intervention proposed the creation of decolonial reinterpretations of works by the artist Jean-Baptiste Debret with the support of Generative Artificial Intelligence image tools, in articulation with the theoretical framework developed throughout the research. The methodology was based on direct observation and interviews with public high school students in the state of Bahia, enabling discussion of the impacts, potentialities, and challenges arising from the didactic proposal. The results demonstrate that the qualified, contextualized, and critical use of these technological tools can promote meaningful learning experiences, supporting Art education by enabling the visual projection of students’ ideas as a way to question aesthetic outcomes that reveal the biases, flaws, and ethical conflicts intrinsic to the technologies employed, thus fostering the development of a critical stance.
